Yes Narrative Writing.
Narrative Writing - is a way of presenting connected events in order to tell a good story. Narrative Writing contain a begining, middle and end. There are five elements of narrative writing.
- Plot - this is most important becaues it is the story structure. The Plot can be divided into the begining, middle and end.
- Characters - the characters are the individuals that the story is about.
- The setting is the location, weather, time, and time period of the action.
- Theme is the main idea in the story. The theme of a story can be conveyed using characters, setting, dialogue, plot, or a combination of all of these elements.
- Point of view - is the “eye” or narrative voice through which you tell a story. When you write a story, you must decide who is telling the story, and to whom they are telling it.
Narrative Writing is a story that must be based on conflict. Every story has a conflict to solve. The plot is centered on this confl ict and the ways in
which the characters attempt to resolve the problem.
- Conflict between a character and nature
- Conflict between a character and society
- Conflict between characters
- Conflict within a character
These essential elements keep the story running smoothly and allow the action to develop in a logical way that the reader can follow.

ReplyDeleteTeaching these elements of narrative writing and in conjunction, the narrative devices, definitely would help our students produce smooth running stories and keep the readers engaged. Writing in logical sequence is also of great importance, as the story would make very little sense if it includes evidence of these structural elements been used, but it is not in the correct order.
